Manchester United on Saturday, August 26, 2017 continued their rich vein of form this season in the Premier League as they defeated former champions Leicester City 2-0. Belgian international Romelu Lukaku failed to shine this time around at Old Trafford as the former Everton striker missed a penalty which would have given United the first goal in the 53rd minutes. Leicester City also had a glorious chance to score in the 60th minutes when Jamie Vardy was superbly set up by Riyad Mahrez, but the forward could not beat David De Gea in goal for Manchester United.
The visitors however paid for their profligacy at Old Trafford when Henrik Mkhitaryan supplied a wonderful pass in the 70th minutes for Marcus Rashford to score the first goal. Jesse Lingard then assisted in the 82nd minutes for Marouane Fellaini to score the second and winning goal for Manchester United.
