Kane worth €250m after Isak´s record transfer, says Bayern chief Hoeness

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness said the club underpaid for Harry Kane when compared to the sum forked out by Liverpool for Alexander Isak.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in August 2023 for a reported fee of €100m (£87.1m) and has since gone on to hit new heights with the Bundesliga giants.

The England captain has scored 133 goals in all competitions for Bayern, including 51 this season, including the Club World Cup last summer.

While Kane has been a storming success this season, Isak’s debut campaign at Liverpool has been hindered by injury.

He made the switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool in September for a British-record fee, believed to be around £125m, having netted 62 goals in 109 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions.

However, he managed just three goals in 16 appearances for Liverpool before suffering a fibula fracture that required surgery in December.

Kane, who won his first major trophy when lifting the Bundesliga title last season, looks set to help Bayern to another league title this term, and Hoeness highlighted that his worth has only gone up in the last three years.

“It was a bit of a risk [spending €100m on him in 2023],” Hoeness told Kicker, via iMiaSanMia.

“But he’s played incredibly well for us in recent years. If we consider the price-performance ratio, I’d say €150m.

“But then you see that Alexander Isak of Liverpool cost €150m. If he’s worth €150m, then Harry is worth €250m.”

Kane is also on course to break Robert Lewandowski’s single-season goalscoring record in the German top flight this term, having netted 31 goals in 26 matches so far, averaging a goal every 66.7 minutes.

Lewandowski, by contrast, scored every 60 minutes, on average, making just 29 appearances when he set the record of 41 in 2020-21.
