Although Alejandro Garnacho might have only arrived at Stamford Bridge eight months ago, the 21-year-old has endured a torrid time in west London.
Forcing his way out of Manchester United last summer following a public feud with Ruben Amorim, it felt like Garnacho’s permanent move to SW6 could offer a new lease of life.
However, drastically failing to hold down a regular spot under both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, the former United starlet has become a figure of frustration in the English capital.
With many in west London expecting another major overhaul behind the scenes this summer, GOAL reported this week that the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are already open to cutting their losses.
Garnacho’s nightmare start to life in the capital
Making it abundantly clear last summer that his sole focus was on completing a permanent switch away from Old Trafford, Garnacho’s prolonged move to Chelsea became a public saga.
With months of conversations eventually concluding just hours before the summer transfer window slammed shut, Garnacho’s £40million move was eventually confirmed and the 21-year-old was excited to get a new adventure underway in the capital.
However, although there might have been plenty of excitement around Stamford Bridge following his arrival, the Argentinian international has drastically failed to adjust to life in SW6.
Only registering a single strike from any of his 20 Premier League appearances this season, fans around west London have made their frustrations clear.
Once again overlooked by Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni last month and already accepting that he will not be part of La Albiceleste’s World Cup squad this summer, it already feels that Garnacho is at another career crossroads.
Enduring a messy divorce from Manchester United just eight months ago and failing to hold down a regular spot since Rosenior’s arrival back in January, the eight-cap international could already be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are ready to sell Garnacho 🚨
Less than a year after his desperate move from Man Utd, the Blues are reportedly already looking to cash in on the winger 👀

Chelsea looking to cut their losses
Although Chelsea might be expected to complete yet another overhaul in west London this summer, the Blues are dealing with some public issues behind the scenes.
Fined £10.75million last month and handed a suspended transfer ben over secret payments that breached Premier League rules, they also announced record-breaking financial losses on April 1st.
Announcing the biggest pre-tax loss in Premier League history, the £262million deficit for 2024/25 eclipses the £197.5m lost by Manchester City back in 2011.
With Chelsea actively looking to balance their books this summer and continued speculation over Enzo Fernandez’s future, it appears that Garnacho’s potential exit could be a viable way to recoup some finances.
Reportedly earning in the region of £110,000-per-week and on a contract that remarkably runs until the summer of 2032, the ex-United star could be pushed out of the Stamford Bridge exit if a suitable offer comes their way.
With GOAL’s report suggesting that Chelsea are already open to the possibility of moving Garnacho on this summer, a potential shock return to his homeland has been muted.
TyC Sports’ Gonzalo Carol reported this week that Argentinian giants River Plate are keeping close tabs on the situation in west London and are weighing up what would be an astonishing swoop.
