While Aston Villa might have been frustrated on Saturday lunchtime as they were hit with a 1-0 loss away at Fulham, Unai Emery’s men could be set for an historic month in the Midlands.
Travelling to local rivals Nottingham Forest on Thursday night as they get their Europa League semi-final adventure underway, the Villains are also in pole position to book a lucrative Champions League return over the coming weeks.
However, while there might have been some speculation over Emery’s future in the Villa Park dugout ahead of next season, Morgan Rogers looks like he could be at the heart of a real transfer saga this summer.
Immediately taking to Premier League football since arriving in the Midlands just two years ago, the England international has embarked on a major rise to superstardom.
Although Rogers might be set to travel to North America as part of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad this summer, there are serious question marks over his domestic future ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Rogers eyes a potential Villa park exit this summer
Putting pen to paper on a new deal at Villa Park back in November, it appeared that Rogers had pledged his long-term future to Emery’s side.
Despite getting their Europa League semi-final charge underway this week and sitting firmly in the driving seat to book another top-four finish, their attacking talisman is reportedly open to a move away from the Midlands.
Although Rogers might have only arrived at Villa Park for a fee of just £15million during the January transfer window back in 2024, the former Middlesbrough youngster has immediately taken to life among England’s elite.
Registering 14 direct Premier League goal contributions this season (nine goals, five assists), Rogers finds his stock at a red-hot high.
While the 23-year-old’s new contract at Villa Park might run until the summer of 2031, Sky Sports reported this month that a string of Premier League giants have made their intentions clear over what would be a blockbuster swoop.
With it suggested that the England international has opened the doors over a potential move away from the Europa League semi-finalists, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all registered their interest.
With the Villa Park hierarchy bracing themselves for what could be a real battle to keep hold of their playmaking ace this summer, it has also been speculated that reigning European champions PSG are a huge admirer of the 13-cap international.

Wilson seen as Rogers’ replacement?
While Villa might have made it abundantly clear that they have no interest in parting ways with Rogers this summer and have batted away any potential suitors, they are certainly looking to get their own respective business done early.
Although Harry Wilson might have suffered public World Cup qualifying heartbreak with Wales last month, the one-time Liverpool youngster has enjoyed a sensational domestic campaign in the English capital.
Helping Fulham to a 1-0 victory against Rogers and Aston Villa on Saturday lunchtime, Wilson has cemented his spot as one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season.
With Marco Silva’s side firmly at the heart of a European chase over the final four fixtures, Wilson has been the leading man at Craven Cottage and has notched 10 Premier League strikes this year.
However, with his current deal in west London set to expire over the next couple of months, the 29-year-old has reportedly made it clear that he is seeking a new adventure this summer.
Despite reported interest from the likes of Everton, it has been suggested that Villa are sat in the driving seat to complete a free switch and are hopeful that a pre-contract agreement can be agreed before the end of the season.
