The pre-World Cup friendly between England and Uruguay on Friday ended up being all about Ben White.
The Arsenal defender, who was apparently uninterested in playing for England until recently, scored to give the Three Lions the lead in the 81st minute, and received boos from the Wembley stands in reply. He then conceded a penalty, converted by Real Madrid star Federico Valverde for Uruguay in the 94th minute.
Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, who stood between the posts for England, says White is a “great lad”.
