According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United expect to complete the sales of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford this summer, with a total of €80million expected to boost their finances from the two deals.

After two relatively unsuccessful seasons at Old Trafford, Hojlund joined Napoli at the start of this season on loan, with the Serie A champions accepting an obligation to turn the deal permanent under certain conditions. Those conditions are now apparently met, and having already paid the sum of €6million for the loan, Napoli will pay the remaining €44million to employ the 23-year-old Danish striker full-time.

Meanwhile, the situation is now quite as straightforward with Rashford, who has been out of the picture at Old Trafford for a long time now. The 28-year-old England international currently plays for Barcelona and the Catalan giants have the option (not an obligation) to sign him permanently for €30 million at the end of the season.

But while Manchester United feel confident about it getting done, there have recently been rumours that Barcelona are prepared to look elsewhere – Chelsea’s Pedro Neto being mentioned here – unless they can negotiate a more favourable deal. Barca’s sporting director Deco has even suggested another loan spell for Rashford, though United are not really expected to entertain that option.
