Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, with Hungary boss Marco Rossi recently stating that it was a youth dream for his side’s captain to play for Los Blancos. However, Szoboszlai’s agent Matyas Esterhazy has moved swiftly to play such claims down, insisting that his client remains focused solely on Liverpool, where he is happy and enjoys the status of a very important player.
Furthermore, Teamtalk report that, despite Szoboszlai being contracted to Liverpool until 2028, talks over a new deal with improved terms are advancing with the 25-year-old midfielder, and the Merseysiders are confident of getting it signed soon. They have no intention of discussing a sale under any circumstances.
Szoboszlai has been Liverpool’s arguably best performer this season, fulfilling several midfield roles and stepping in at right-back to do a good job, when needed. He has scored a total of 10 goals – some of them spectacular free-kicks – and produced seven assists in 35 matches across all competitions.
Szoboszlai’s career seems to have reached an important crossroad. If he signs a new contract, he will be set to spend the best years of his career at Anfield and probably forsake the Real Madrid dream for good. If not, his future will become uncertain, and come the summer of 2027, Liverpool’s stance in this matter may not be as rock-hard as it now.
