Marco Senesi, soon to be a free agent as his contract with Bournemouth nears its expiration date, has been linked with a host of top clubs. Juventus and Atletico Madrid are said to be keen on the 28-year-old, while Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be options for him to remain in England.
However, the latest report on this particular front, coming from i paper, claims Liverpool have now moved into the pole position in the Senesi race. The Merseysiders are thought to be determined to add a centre-back with significant experience in the English top flight, given the age of Virgil van Dijk and recent inconsistencies of Ibrahima Konate. Furthermore, despite recent reports suggesting an agreement between Liverpool and Konate over a new contract is close, nothing has been signed as of yet.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are looking to bolster their central defence area as well, but neither of them is currently determined enough to go for Senesi and both are said to be looking at other potential targets.
