Completely omitted from Eddie Howe’s squad during Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat at home against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, it appears that the writing is on the wall for Anthony Gordon at St. James’ Park.
Reportedly keen on a muted move to title contenders Arsenal back in January, The Telegraph reported this week that Gordon is actively seeking a permanent move away from Tyneside when the window reopens.
Although the former Everton star might be sat on a contract that runs until the summer of 2030, Gordon has made it clear to his representatives that he wants a fresh start away from St. James’ Park.
Despite registering just six Premier League goals this season, the England international shattered plenty of records on the European stage and it has been suggested that he does have plenty of heavyweight interest.
While Newcastle might have watched their Champions League adventure come to a thumping end at the hands of Barcelona last month, the 25-year-old did notched 10 goals in his 12 European appearances – a tally that is only bettered by the superstar duo of Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

While Morgan Rogers might have only arrived in the Midlands during the January transfer window back in 2024, the former Middlesbrough starlet has embarked on a real rise to superstardom.
